Terms of Service

Version 2.0 · Effective 2026-10-17

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and John Sacco ("StreamEcon," "we," "us," or "our") about your use of StreamEcon: the website, dashboards, creator tools, overlays and browser sources, public pages, chat bot, automations, webhooks, APIs, remote control keys, integrations, e-mails and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, ticking the agreement box at sign-up, or using an authenticated part of the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they include by reference: the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are and How to Reach Us

The Service is operated under the StreamEcon name by John Sacco. Questions, notices and requests can be sent to support@streamecon.com or through the Contact page. StreamEcon is an independent service. It is not owned by, affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Twitch Interactive, Inc., Amazon, StreamElements, OBS Project or any other platform it connects to. Their names are used only to describe compatibility.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create or use an account. You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, if we previously terminated your account for a violation of these Terms, or if your use would violate the rules of a platform you connect. If you use StreamEcon for a business, team or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

3. Open Beta

StreamEcon is in open beta. Features are added, changed, renamed and removed often, and some are experimental. Settings, layouts and integrations may need to be reconfigured after an update. We work to keep the Service reliable, but there is no service-level commitment, and you should not rely on the Service as the only way to run something important to you (see Sections 18 and 20).

4. Your Account

You must give an accurate e-mail address and display name, verify your e-mail address before the account can be used, and keep your password and the e-mail account linked to StreamEcon secure. You are responsible for activity on your account, including by anyone you let use it, unless it results from our own security failure. Tell us right away at support@streamecon.com if you believe your account, a connected platform account, a webhook secret, an API token or a remote control key has been compromised.

You may not create accounts by automated means, with throwaway e-mail addresses, in bulk, on behalf of others without their permission, or to get around a suspension. You may not sell, rent, transfer or share your account. We may refuse a sign-up, require additional verification or limit sign-ups to protect the Service. Accounts that never verify their e-mail address are removed automatically after a short period.

5. Workspaces, Owners and Members

Creator tools live in a workspace. The person who creates a workspace is its owner. Owners can invite other StreamEcon users as members (for example, Workspace Moderators) and give them permissions. Members can change settings and take actions in the workspace within their permissions, including actions that affect the connected Twitch channel. Owners are responsible for who they invite, for the permissions they grant and for what members do in the workspace. If the only owner of a workspace deactivates or deletes their account, members lose access to that workspace.

6. Twitch and Other Connected Services

Authorization. When you connect Twitch, you sign in on Twitch and grant StreamEcon the permissions ("scopes") shown on Twitch's consent screen. You authorize StreamEcon to use those permissions on your behalf to provide the features you use, including to:

  • receive your channel's events from Twitch (EventSub), such as follows, subscriptions, gifted subscriptions, Bits, raids, Channel Points redemptions, polls, predictions, Hype Trains, charity, goals, ads, shoutouts and when your stream starts and ends;
  • have StreamEcon's chat bot account (StreamEconBot) read the chat in your channel, at all times while your channel is connected, and post the messages you configure (for example command replies, Chat Notifications, scheduled messages and announcements);
  • carry out actions you or your workspace members trigger or automate, such as deleting messages, timeouts, bans, adding or removing moderators, shoutouts, running ads and updating your stream title or category; and
  • read information needed for those features, such as followers, chatters and subscription status.

StreamEcon stores the tokens Twitch issues, encrypted, and uses them only for these purposes. You can disconnect Twitch at any time on the Connections page, and you can also remove StreamEcon under Connections in your Twitch settings. Disconnecting stops new data from arriving and turns off the features that need Twitch, but does not by itself delete history already stored (see Section 19 and the Privacy Policy).

Other services. The Service may connect to StreamElements (to show and count tips), the StreamEcon desktop companion and media sources (Now Playing), OBS and other tools, and to addresses you choose (webhooks). Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, and you are responsible for following them, including the Twitch Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not control third-party services, and their outages, rule changes, rate limits, permission changes, account actions or API changes can stop features from working. We may change, limit or remove an integration when a provider requires it or when it is needed for security or compliance.

7. Automation and Actions on Your Behalf

StreamEcon lets you build stream mechanics: timers and subathon timers, wheels, goals, marquees, alerts, chat commands, Chat Notifications, scheduled messages, polls, giveaways, draft boards, Live Control buttons, automations and more. These act automatically on events and can have real effects on your channel and viewers, such as adding or removing time, posting messages, deleting messages, timing out or banning users or changing moderator roles. You decide how they are configured and are responsible for checking that they behave as you intend.

Events can arrive late, more than once, out of order or not at all, and third-party services can fail. As a result, timer values, totals, goals, leaderboards, wheel results, giveaway entries and analytics can be wrong or incomplete. You are solely responsible for any promise you make to your audience (for example, how long a subathon lasts, what a goal unlocks or what a giveaway awards), for checking results before acting on them, and for honouring or correcting them. If you run a giveaway, raffle or contest, you are its sponsor and are responsible for its rules, eligibility, prizes, taxes and compliance with applicable law and platform rules; StreamEcon only provides a tool and never awards prizes.

8. Viewer Information and Your Responsibilities

Running a channel with StreamEcon means the Service processes information about your viewers, such as their Twitch usernames and IDs, chat messages, and support, activity and participation history in your channel. You decide which features to use and how long some of this information is kept (for example chat history retention and viewer activity retention). You agree to use viewer information only to run and moderate your stream and community, to keep it within StreamEcon unless you have a lawful basis to do otherwise, not to use it to harass, expose, track or profile people outside your channel, not to sell it, and to follow applicable privacy laws and Twitch's rules. If a viewer asks you to access or delete their information, you may forward the request to us at support@streamecon.com and we will help.

9. Webhooks, API Tokens, Remote Control Keys and Overlay Links

Webhook signing secrets, API tokens, remote control keys and private overlay or browser-source links work like passwords: anyone who has one can do what it allows, such as viewing an overlay or pressing Live Control buttons. Keep them private, share them only with people and tools you trust, and revoke or regenerate them if they leak. When you add a webhook, you direct StreamEcon to send your workspace's event data, which can include viewers' usernames and messages, to the address you choose; you are responsible for that destination and for how it handles the data.

10. Your Content

You keep ownership of what you submit or create in the Service, including text, commands, images, sounds, videos, layouts and settings ("Your Content"). You give StreamEcon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display and adapt Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, back up, support and improve the Service, to show it where you choose to publish it (for example overlays and public pages) and to comply with law. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept in backups for their normal rotation and copies we must keep by law. You confirm that you have the rights needed for Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law.

11. Public Pages and Overlays

Some features are meant to be public, such as public workspace pages, public wheel or giveaway pages and overlays shown on your stream. Anything you publish this way, including viewer usernames or messages it displays, can be seen by anyone. You control what is public and are responsible for it.

12. Tips, Donations and Payments

StreamEcon does not currently process payments or hold money for anyone. Tip and donation features display and count events reported by the connected provider (such as StreamElements). Payments between viewers and creators are handled by those providers under their own terms; StreamEcon is not a party to them and is not responsible for refunds, chargebacks, reversals, fees, fraud or taxes. Never ask viewers to send payment details through StreamEcon. If StreamEcon offers payment features in the future, additional terms will apply and will be presented before use.

13. Fees

The Service is currently offered without charge. That does not create a right to free service in the future. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before you are charged, and you will not be charged without agreeing. Third-party services you connect may charge their own fees.

14. Acceptable Use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: no illegal activity, harassment, hate, threats, spam, fraud, malware, platform manipulation, evasion of enforcement, misuse of viewer data, or attempts to break, overload or get around the Service's security or limits.

15. Security, Testing and Reporting

Do not probe, scan or test the Service's security or capacity, bypass authentication or rate limits, access another workspace without permission, scrape non-public data or reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction. If you find a security problem, please report it privately to support@streamecon.com and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it. Good-faith reports that follow this section will not be treated as a violation.

16. Our Intellectual Property and Feedback

StreamEcon's software, design, branding, documentation and original content belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service as offered while you comply with them; they do not transfer ownership. If you send ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or payment. That does not give us ownership of your own pre-existing material.

17. Third-Party Components

The Service uses third-party providers and components, such as hosting, content delivery and security filtering, e-mail delivery and web fonts. Some web pages may also embed third-party content, such as a Twitch player. These are described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Third-party content is the responsibility of its provider.

18. Availability, Changes and Data Loss

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, perform maintenance, and change limits, interfaces and integrations. We aim to avoid unnecessary disruption but do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time, including during a stream. We keep operational backups, but the Service is not an archive or backup service, and data can be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important to you, such as media files, command lists and records you need for your audience or for taxes.

19. Deactivation, Deletion, Suspension and Termination

By you. You can stop using StreamEcon at any time. On the My Profile page you can:

  • Deactivate your account. StreamEcon stops monitoring your channel entirely, revokes its Twitch access, closes the workspaces you own alone to everyone and takes their overlays and public pages offline. Your history and settings are kept. You can sign in and reactivate later, then connect Twitch again.
  • Delete your account. Your account and all data in the workspaces you own alone are permanently deleted, and StreamEcon's Twitch access is revoked. This cannot be undone. Workspaces with another owner are not deleted; only your membership is removed. Copies in backups are overwritten as backups rotate, and we may keep limited records where the law requires it or where they are needed to prevent fraud or abuse, as described in the Privacy Policy.

By us. We may suspend, limit or terminate an account, workspace, integration or feature if we reasonably believe it is needed for security, to comply with law or a platform's requirements, to prevent harm or fraud, because of a violation of these Terms, or because of prolonged inactivity. Where appropriate we will give notice and a chance to fix the problem first, but we may act immediately for serious or urgent risks. If we end the Service entirely, we will try to give reasonable notice.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (including 10, 16, 20 to 25) continue to apply.

20. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE, ITS AUTOMATIONS, MODERATION, TIMERS, ANALYTICS, EVENT DELIVERY OR INTEGRATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, TIMELY, SECURE, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES OR FOR ACTIONS TAKEN BY THEM, INCLUDING ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS AGAINST YOUR ACCOUNTS ON OTHER PLATFORMS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

21. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STREAMECON AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, VIEWERS, SUBSCRIBERS, DONATIONS, SPONSORSHIPS, GOODWILL, DATA OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY WHERE THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW THEM, INCLUDING, WHERE APPLICABLE, FOR FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILFUL MISCONDUCT.

22. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless StreamEcon and its operators from third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your configuration of automations, giveaways or webhooks, your handling of viewer information, your violation of these Terms or the law, or your infringement of someone else's rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own violation of these Terms or the law.

23. Disputes, Governing Law and Venue

If you have a dispute with us, please first contact support@streamecon.com and describe it; we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. These Terms and any dispute about the Service are governed by the laws of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer laws of the place you live give you more protection. Any court case must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, United States, and both you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court with jurisdiction. Where the law allows, any claim must be brought within one year after it arose.

24. Compliance with Law

You may not use the Service where doing so would violate applicable export-control or sanctions laws, or if you are on a government list of prohibited or restricted persons.

25. General

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms as the Service or the law changes. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page. For material changes we will tell you, for example by e-mail or in the Service, and may ask you to accept the new version before you continue; if you do not agree, stop using the Service and you may deactivate or delete your account. Electronic communications. You agree that we may send notices by e-mail to the address on your account or show them in the Service, and that these satisfy any requirement for written notice. Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of the Service, subject to the Privacy Policy. Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of hosting, network or third-party platforms. Entire agreement, severability and waiver. These Terms and the policies they include are the entire agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent allowed and the rest remains in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
