Connect Twitch
Link your channel, what StreamEcon can do with it, and when to reconnect.
StreamEcon needs your Twitch channel connected to receive events and to act in your chat. You connect once; StreamEcon keeps the connection fresh on its own.
Connect
- Open Connection Center and choose Connect Twitch.
- Sign in on Twitch with the account you stream from, review the permissions and choose Authorize.
- You return to StreamEcon with your channel shown as connected.
What StreamEcon does with the connection
- Receives your channel's events: follows, subs and gifted subs, Bits, raids, Channel Points, polls, predictions, Hype Trains, ads and when your stream starts and ends.
- Reads and writes chat as StreamEconBot. The bot account reads your chat so commands, notifications and the chat overlay work, and posts the messages you set up. It stays in your chat even when you are offline, so commands keep working.
- Takes actions you set up, such as updating your title or category from
!titleand!game, timeouts from banned words, shoutouts and ads.
Your Twitch password is never shared with StreamEcon. Twitch gives StreamEcon a token that you can cancel at any time.
When StreamEcon asks you to reconnect
New features sometimes need a permission your connection does not have yet. StreamEcon then shows a reconnect message on the tool and in Health & Setup. Choose Reconnect and approve again; nothing else changes and no history is lost.
Reconnect Twitch once so StreamEconBot gets permission to read your channel's chat, or make StreamEconBot a moderator in your channel (/mod streameconbot).
Disconnect
Choose Disconnect in Connection Center, or remove StreamEcon under Connections in your Twitch settings. Your history stays; tools that need Twitch stop until you connect again.
