Add overlays to OBS
Put any StreamEcon overlay on stream with an OBS browser source.
Every StreamEcon overlay (Timer, alerts, goals, Marquee, polls, chat and more) is a web page you add to OBS as a browser source. Changes you make in StreamEcon appear on stream immediately; you never need to edit the source again.
Add an overlay
- In the tool, find the OBS or overlay section and choose Copy next to the link.
- In OBS, under Sources, choose + → Browser and give it a name.
- Paste the link into URL. Set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080 unless the tool suggests another size.
- Leave the background transparent (the default) and choose OK.
- Move and resize the source in your scene. Use the tool's Test button to see it work.
Keep overlay links private
Anyone with a link can open that overlay. Don't show it on stream or share it. If one leaks, generate a new link in the tool and update the source in OBS.
If an overlay is blank or stuck
- Right-click the source in OBS → Refresh.
- Check the URL was pasted completely, including everything after
?. - Check the tool is turned on and, for alerts, that the queue isn't paused or in Safe Mode.
- Many tools show whether their overlay is connected. If it says disconnected while OBS is open, refresh the source.
Streamlabs Desktop and other software that supports browser sources work the same way.
